Brief overview of the project:

Considering the importance of TCLF (Textile, Clothing, Leather, Fashion) industries in the economy and the trade of the cross-border area, the aim of the project is to continue the operation of an existing Support Structure (Creative Hub) in Greece and establish an antenna of the Support Structure in Bulgaria that will operate as a support mechanism and info-point on issues of sustainable management of resources and waste. The Creative Hub+ Structure will implement actions that will be addressed to all stakeholders in TCLF and more specifically will address to SMEs, fashion designers, start-ups, students in the fashion sector (clothing, knitting, embroidery, textiles), executives and policy makers.

Overall project objectives and expected change.

The project aims to continue the operation of an existing Support Structure (Creative Hub) in Greece and establish an antenna of the Support Structure in Bulgaria that will operate as a support mechanism and info-point on issues of sustainable management of resources and waste. The specific objectives of the project are:

●         To raise awareness of fashion SMEs, fashion designers, start-ups, students in the fashion sector, executives and policy makers on the topics of sustainable management of resources and waste.

●         To provide targeted consulting services to SMEs, designers, and executives on the EU policy guidelines (EU Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles, Circular Economy Action Plan), sustainable design and production (eco-design).

●         To provide information on new technologies regarding textiles (recycled materials, reuse), new textile structures that provide more efficient solutions in terms of both energy efficient and functional/structural properties that make products durable, repairable and recyclable.

●         To promote the establishment of networks for cross-border businesses cooperation and support of joint market initiatives.

●         To promote public raising awareness activities on the benefits of applying the principles of the circular economy in the TCLF sectors.

●         To implement a general public awareness campaign (climate change, environmental opportunities of a circular economy etc.) using different media.
